Solutions for circular economy and waste management

AZW solutions for circular economy and effective management of wastes are conceptualised, designed and deployed through programs and projects, specifically tailor made to the institutional, environmental and socio-economic characteristics of each context of intervention.

Program and projects are designed and operated leveraging collaborations with outstanding scientific, technological, industrial and financial partners.

For optimising cost-efficiency and effectiveness of the service, particularly in lower-population-density areas, AZW uses compactor trucks with two separated loading spaces.

When dealing with Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), simple source-separated collection schemes by two-three fractions guarantees broader and more effective participation of households as service recipients.

Collecting separately the Organic (wet) and the residual (dry) fractions ensures households’ broad and effective participation, while allowing adequate treatment of the collected MSW stream through composting of the wet fraction and mechanical sorting of the dry fraction for extracting reusable and recyclables.
