Strategies, plans, programs and projects.

Integrated waste management systems are organized and works through various compartments, each of which is responsible for executing one or more waste collection, treatment, and disposal task. These compartments operate through a highly interconnected network logic, since the material flows leaving one compartment constitute the incoming materials flows to other(s) compartment(s). Therefore, clear strategies, detailed and itemised plans, as well as thorough designs are essential pre-requisites for establishing and operating any successful waste management scheme; AZW provides high-quality technical services for the preparation of these plans and designs. Design of waste collection and hauling services.

Waste collection and hauling services are key components of waster manage schemes, since they are devoted to the continuous removal of waste generated by the various sectors of human societies, such as residential (e.g. households), service economy (e.g. shops and offices) and industrial (e.g. workshops and factories). AZW executes all technical tasks for the designs of waste collection and hauling services, including field surveys, selection and sizing of most appropriate primary collection scheme (e.g. door-to-door, kerbside, street containers), secondary collection truck sizing, routing and network deployment, location and design transfer station, and hauling truck sizing and routing. Design of treatment plants and sanitary landfills.

After its collection, waste produced by human society is transferred to one or more treatment plants and handling facilities, to implement such treatment or disposal processes as: sorting (separation of waste fractions of different typologies); aerobic biological treatment of organic materials (for the production of marketable compost and/or bio-stabilized material); anaerobic digestion of organic materials (to produce methane fuel to generate energy); production of secondary materials (recycling and/or reuse); compaction and volume reduction treatments; final disposal of non-reusable and non-recyclables in sanitary landfills. AZW executes feasibility field surveys, feasibility studies, and technical designs for the establishment of these plants and facilities. Learn more
